OUR LEADERSHIP

Megan Shinkle is the Director of Peer Connections Centers at Mental Health Connections, where she provides leadership across both East and West County sites. She oversees daily operations, supports and mentors Peer Coaches, and works to ensure recovery-oriented programming remains responsive, equitable, and community-driven. Megan also collaborates with community partners to strengthen access to resources and opportunities for members. With a background in behavioral health, case management, education, and community-based support, Megan has worked extensively with individuals and families navigating housing instability, mental health systems, and access to essential services. She brings a trauma-informed approach, emphasizing de-escalation, active listening, and collaborative partnership. Megan is a graduate of the Contra Costa County SPIRIT Program (Service Provider Individualized Recovery Intensive Training). She holds degrees in Biological Science sand Liberal Arts, with concentrations in Math & Science and Social & Behavioral Sciences, and she is currently pursuing an Associate of Science in Health and Human Services. Deeply committed to recovery principles and equitable access to care, Megan works to create environments where individuals feel safe, respected, and empowered in their wellness journeys. She is passionate about strengthening programs, advancing meaningful outcomes, and building inclusive communities rooted in connection and resilience.
